1 Measure 100g (4oz) of the barley with the scales.
2 If you don't have any weighing scales then you can measure out some barley in a cup. Just be sure to fill the cup to the same level for each ball, otherwise some may end up heavier than others.
3 Now to create the bag that will provide the main bulk of the juggling ball. First of all, pour the 100g of barley into a food bag.
4 Now twist the top of the bag a couple of times to prevent the contents from escaping.
5 Pass bag over itself so there are two layers of the bag round the barley.
6 Proceed by twisting the bag and passing it over itself untill there is no excess bag. This is done to reinforce the inner bag so the contents of the juggling ball do not break out.
7 Now the inner part of the juggling ball has been made we can start with the outside. Cut the balloons at the end of the nozzle so there is only the round bulb part left.
8 Stretch the bulb part of the balloon as far as it will go over the bag of barley.
9 This is the first layer of the juggling ball.
10 carry on by stretching another two balloons over the ball, each one going over in the opposite direction from the last. When you have three layers on the ball it is complete! A spot from the previous layer will be left on the ball, if you prefer you can use all the same colour for each ball.
That's it! Now just repeat this procedure twice more and you will have yourself a set of three juggling balls!
Now you can start practising. A guide to juggling will be coming soon but until then www.millsmess.co.uk has lots of tricks to try.
Enjoy your new juggling balls!
